About The Cancer Index
Why The Cancer Index exists and who built it.
The Cancer Index exists because someone needed it to. This platform was built from personal experience — not a business plan.
Why This Exists
When someone you love gets diagnosed with cancer, you enter a world you never asked to be part of. Suddenly you're drowning in medical terminology, treatment options, financial questions, and emotional weight — all while trying to be strong for the person who needs you.
I built The Cancer Index because I needed it to exist.
The Story
My mom was diagnosed with cancer. Like millions of families before us, we were thrown into a whirlwind of doctor appointments, research, and impossible decisions. The information was scattered across dozens of websites, support groups, and medical journals. Some of it was outdated. Some was written for scientists. Some was trying to sell us something.
I remember thinking: why isn't there one place that has all of this organized?
After we lost her, I carried that question with me. As someone with a family history of cancer and a BRCA gene carrier myself, this isn't just a project — it's personal.
The Cancer Index is the resource I wish we'd had.
What Makes This Different
Clarity over noise
Every piece of content is written to be understood, not to impress.
For patients AND innovators
We serve both — the person looking for resources and real support, and the investor tracking the next breakthrough.
Curated, not just comprehensive
We don't try to cover everything. We cover what matters most, clearly and accurately.
Updated regularly
Cancer research moves fast. We keep up.
What This Is Not
The Cancer Index is not a replacement for medical advice. We don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Everything here is informational and educational. Always consult your healthcare team for medical decisions.
